In the 2021 European Cup group stage, 16 of the 24 teams will advance to the knockout stage.
In addition to the top two in each of the six groups (12 teams in total), the four best third runners will also be eligible to enter the round of 16.
For convenience, we have created a separate ranking table (below) for the currently ranked third team, which will be updated after each game. The lucky four teams to advance are determined by the following criteria established by UEFA in this specific order:
- Most points
- Super goal difference
- Most goals
- Win at most
- Discipline points are the least in the group stage
- Position in the overall ranking of the European qualifiers
Switzerland It was the first team to rank third in mathematics. They joined Czech RepublicThe four points of these two teams are better than the other two teams that also ended the group stage: Ukraine and Finland. This guarantees them a place in the top four.
The Finnish team was eliminated by the Czech team’s qualifying. Spain is also looking outside, but a win or tie in the last match on Wednesday will get them through. Along with Spain, Portugal is another team that has one more game to play.

Once we know that all four third-placed teams will advance, the next step is to find their opponents in the round of 16.
UEFA has outlined the 16 rounds of matches based on the group of the third-ranked team (Competition Rules Page 19). The predetermined arrangement is as follows, but only six are still in the game, because the A and D teams are two of them:
