Brighton defender Alex Cochran has joined the Scottish Premier League team Red Hearts on loan for the 2021-22 season.
The 21-year-old recently signed a contract extension with the Seagulls after spending most of his time with the Belgian Division A and B Royal League Saint Gillies.
Last season, full-back Cochrane played once for Brighton’s first team and came off the bench in the 2-0 League Cup victory over Preston in September.
Red Hearts coach Robbie Nelson said on his club website: “I am very happy that Alex will be able to join our trade in the coming season.
“He is a very acclaimed player with a good pedigree, so I look forward to working with him.
“He will provide competition on the left side of the defense, and his arrival also allows us to flexibly change the formation if we need to.”
Cochrane subletting to Scotland requires an international license.
