Scottie Pippen must know that his comments on Kevin Durant will ultimately affect the Nets star.
In an interview with Tyler R. Tynes of GQ, The members of the Hall of Fame discussed several topics, including Durant’s performance in the 2021 Eastern Conference semifinals. The 11-time All-Star player averaged 35.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game in 7 games with the Bucks, but the Nets ultimately failed to do so. Despite this, Durant won a lot of praise for leading the Brooklyn team, because Kyrie Irving and James Harden were injured and fell to the ground in the series.
Well, Pippen looked at things, uh, a little bit differently. He told Tynes that this was the first time he “really saw that Kevin Durant had to be that person and take the team home.” He suggested that LeBron James could have won the series with “team basketball.”
“KD can score better than LeBron, and may always be able to do it. But has he surpassed LeBron? Naw,” Pippen said. “He tried to beat the Milwaukee Bucks instead of using his team. Do you understand what I’m talking about? LeBron James will figure out how to beat them, he will not be exhausted, and he may not be the last shot.” But LeBron is not KD, and KD is not LeBron either. KD is a shooter and a scorer. But he doesn’t have what LeBron has. “
Durant played 48 minutes in Game 5 and 53 minutes in Game 7. Pippen cited Durant’s final shot at the end of the knockout, a three-pointer that was far from the basket, and attributed it to a physical loss to commit a crime.
“He needs to learn how to use his team. He has to learn how to make his teammates better. That’s it,” Pippen said. “Although he is great, there is a [cap] For him [talent]. He could easily throw in those 3 and kill them in the rules, we won’t talk about that. But I know he will not succeed in overtime. He is shooting all the shots. You finished the whole game, brother! Some of them let you down physically. You will lose. … But, have you ever seen LeBron shoot like this? He won’t make a move. He will be smarter. He wants to double-team forcibly. This is something KD cannot do. He was so tired that he couldn’t even go to the bucket.
“To be honest, I think [Nets coach] Steve Nash should put KD on the block and let him sit there to pass the ball so he can rest. But he put him on the top of the floor and they were all under him. This is not fair. But this is just coaching. Steve Nash is an inexperienced coach. Therefore, he has to know. He broke KD. How does it feel-will you win? He played the entire f-ing game. How did you wake up the next day and say you should have won? “
Pippen’s famous quotes quickly spread to NBA Twitter, so it’s only a matter of time before someone flags Durant. Durant has been active on social media platforms. Durant quickly pointed out that Pippen is not a big fan of “team basketball.” Refused to speak The last game of the 1994 Bulls and Knicks playoffs. Pippen is angry that Chicago coach Phil Jackson designed the game for Tony Kukoc instead of Pippen. Kukoc hit the buzzer, but Pippen’s decision to stay on the bench largely obscured what should have been a happy moment.
“Didn’t the great Scotty Pippen refuse to take the last-second shot of the game because of his feelings?” Durant wrote on Twitter.
The great Scottie Pippen refused to participate in the game at the last second shot. Isn’t it because he thinks his coach has a game plan for a better shooter?

But Durant hasn’t finished yet.He also accused Pippen of deliberately waiting for the operation until the 1997-98 season approached, because as Pippen said in ESPN’s “Last Dance”, he would not “F-My summer tried to recover for a season.”
Durant said on Twitter: “Scott also wants to enjoy his summer, so he chooses to recover this season.”
This guy Scott also wants to enjoy his summer, so he chooses to recover during the season, haha @Scottie Pippen They care about Phil, not you! ! !
