If you need a quick dessert that doesn’t require much work, it can’t be easier than this! These fresh strawberry, blueberry and angel cake skewers are perfect for Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day or any summer party.
I don’t know what putting fruits on sticks makes them so attractive, but when my little girl couldn’t wait to eat them, her eyes lit up.
I wanted a healthy cheesecake-flavored dipping sauce, so I played with yogurt, cream cheese, vanilla and sugar, which was exactly what I was looking for. The strawberry in this dipping sauce tastes very good, it is a breeder!
Take the lead
This will feed a large group of people, you can dip it the night before, assemble it in the morning, and refrigerate until ready to eat.
- You can skip the skewers and just put the fruit in a bowl and eat it with the dipping sauce.
- Use pound cake or gluten-free cake instead.

- 4 ounce 1/3 less fat cream cheese, soften
- 1 cup Non-fat Greek yogurt or plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup Raw sugar
- 14 ounce Angel food cake, Cut about 1 inch cubes
- 72-84 Medium strawberry, About 3.5 pounds of stems removed
- 1 pint blueberry
- 24 to 28 string
In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese with yogurt, vanilla and sugar. Stir well until the sugar dissolves; set aside.
Skewer 3 strawberries and 2 cakes on each skewer, alternating between strawberries and cakes.
Finish each skewers with 3 blueberries.
Place the finished skewers on a plate and refrigerate until ready to eat.
